BEING studio opened its doors in 2002 under the name H’Art of Ottawa. The studio supports artists with developmental disabilities who are working in visual art and creative writing.

At BEING, artists have access to the space, the tools, and the representation to create and commercialize their visual art and creative writing. Each artist is encouraged and supported in achieving their unique creative and professional goals, whether to become more prolific, profitable, or simply to find focus for their creative practice.

BEING artists contribute to the cultural life of the city through a regular program of exhibitions as well as collaborations with guest artists.

MSCS also offers a Social Learning Day Program, Adult Day Program, Developmental Day Program, and an After School Program, Summer Camp, and a March Break Camp in Kanata, and Youth Groups in the Ottawa area.

The team at Main Street Community Services remains dedicated to broadening horizons, developing talents, promoting self-esteem and teaching essential life-preparation skills by extending a hand of hope to individuals and their families.

The Preemies4Preemies team is raising money to support the incredible work of The Ottawa Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The team is inspired by the personal experiences of team members who have themselves been touched by the trauma of premature birth. The team knows first hand the remarkable dedication, compassion, skills, and love of the NICU team.

Funds raised by the Preemies4Preemies team is used by the NICU team to enhance patient and parental care and comfort in ways that aren’t otherwise funded through our healthcare system.
