September Charities

Announcing our charities for the September 21st event!
Registration opens soon. Stay tuned!

Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit

The Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit (CVSDU) is a veteran-led Canadian charity that provides professionally trained service dogs, at no cost, to veterans and first responders living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Operational Stress Injuries (OSI). Through expert training, ongoing support, and the life-changing partnership between handler and service dog, CVSDU helps recipients improve their mental health, regain independence, and reconnect with their families and communities.

Christie Lake Kids

Christie Lake Kids is an Ottawa-based charity that empowers children and youth from low-income households by providing free, year-round recreational, leadership, and outdoor education programs. By removing barriers such as cost, transportation, meals, and equipment, the organization helps young people build confidence, resilience, social connections, and the life skills they need to thrive through after-school programs, leadership development, and summer camp experiences.

Through intensive case management, culturally responsive youth programs, wellness services, and practical supports such as housing assistance, food, transportation, and life-skills coaching, Upstream provides compassionate, community-based care that helps people build stability, resilience, and lasting recovery.
